BioMed Realty Sells Rockville Property to GI Partners for $322.5M
In one of the largest commercial real estate transactions of the year, in the Washington, D.C. area, BioMed Realty Trust, Inc. sold its biological manufacturing facility at 9911 Belward Campus Drive, Rockville, for $322.5 million or $1,112 per square foot. San Francisco-based GI Partners purchased the property.

Gaslight Properties has recently acquired an apartment complex in Cincinnati’s Clifton neighborhood, near the city’s downtown. The local apartment rental company bought the The Overlook at Clifton from Providence, RI-based PBE Companies LLC.
$50M DoubleTree Opens in Lawrenceburg
Hilton Worldwide and DoubleTree by Hilton have recently opened another hotel in the Greater Cincinnati area. The DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrenceburg is located at 51 Walnut Street, on the Ohio River.
Officials Top-Off Baton Rouge’s $30.5M IBM Technology Center
Governor Bobby Jindal and IBM Vice President Tim McLachlan, together with many other state and local officials, were present on Monday, in downtown Baton Rouge, to celebrate the topping-off of the nine-story IBM technology center. During the ceremony, executives and guests signed a piece of structural steel which was afterwards installed near the top of the structure.

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor Welcomes its First Hyatt Place
Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is home to another hotel. Hyatt Hotels Corporation and 511 South Central Avenue, LLC, a collaboration between Englewood LLC and CG Investments, Inc., announced on Thursday, December 11, that the new Hyatt Place Baltimore/Inner Harbor is now open and ready to receive guests.
Morgan Properties and Olayan Purchase The Preserve at Owings Crossing
Morgan Properties has acquired another large Maryaland apartment community. In a joint venture with The Olayan Group, the King of Prussia-based company purchased The Preserve at Owings Crossing, in Reisterstown. This is the joint venture’s second acquisition in 2014.
Forest City Sells Cleveland’s Halle Building for $20M
One of Cleveland’s oldest landmark buildings has changed hands. Forest City Enterprises, Inc. announced at the start of December that it has completed the sale of the Halle Building. The property was acquired by affiliates of K&D Management, LLC, for $20 million.
