Developer Hillwood Properties has recently announced plans to enrich its 17,000-acre Alliance Texas development by adding a second rental home project. The new 262-unit project will be adjacent to the original Monterra Village apartment complex, which opened with a big splash in 2008 as the first smoke-free luxury apartment community in North Texas.

Back in 2008, Hillwood announced that approximately 1,000 apartments will rise on the Alliance Texas site; it currently consists of the 288-unit Monterra Village, the Alliance Global Logistics Hub, the corporate campuses and golf courses of Circle T Ranch, Alliance Town Center and the Heritage and Saratoga residential communities. According to the developer, movie theater operator Cinemark will also soon build a 14-screen cinema as part of the project. Located just south of the growing Alliance Town Center retail and commercial project, the 262 new units will satisfy market demand since the Monterra Village is full.

Dallas’ Victory Park development will also be adding 378 units, as developer Mill Creek Residential Trust plans a new five-story apartment building on Victory Avenue.  According to the Dallas Business Journal, the project gained the approval of city officials on Thursday and the preliminary plans presented to the city include the apartment building, two courtyards and a six-story parking garage at Victory Park, near the American Airlines Center. Although currently the project is in the early stages of development, Mill Creek Residential is reportedly going through an evaluation process and work on the project’s viability.
