Vantage Pours $2B in NoVa Expansion
The company's fourth Virginia project brings its statewide investment to $8 billion.

Vantage Data Centers is expanding in Northern Virginia with a $2 billion project near Fredericksburg, bringing its statewide investment to $8 billion.
The data center owner and operator has broken ground on its fourth Virginia campus, a 192-megawatt complex that will include three data centers totaling 929,000 square feet.
DPR Construction serves as general contractor and Dominion Energy will provide the necessary power. The first building is expected to open by late 2027.
The development represents Vantage’s first project in the Fredericksburg region. The firm entered the Virginia market in 2017.

Dubbed VA4, the campus is taking shape on an 82-acre lot in Stafford County, just more than an hour away from the company’s existing facilities, spread across the Data Center Valley.
Designed to achieve a LEED Silver certification, VA4 will include closed-loop chilled water systems, liquid-to-liquid cooling, N+1 redundancy, access to dark and lit fiber and a 270-megawatt on-site substation. Amenities will feature dedicated office spaces, break rooms, multiple conference rooms, meeting spaces throughout the campus and access to retail, restaurant and entertainment options nearby.
Billions into a booming sector
As AI data center demand sustains data usage and development, multiple billions are poured into the industry, with Vantage Data Centers being among the most active companies in the sector.
The firm ventured into large investments and developments recently, one of them being a 1.4-gigawatt campus outside Abilene, Texas. The $25 billion project is currently underway and will total 3.7 million square feet across 1,200 acres, with the first facility expected to reach completion next year.
Earlier this month, Vantage landed a new partner for its $15 billion project in Port Washington, Wis. The company is developing this campus as part of OpenAI and Oracle’s investment in the Stargate project.
The company also secured $5 billion in financing for further expansion in June. The funds will be used for the development of a new campus in New Albany, Ohio, set to include 1.5 million square feet and a power capacity of 192 megawatts.
