Movement Mortgage Doubles SC Presence

The lender expanded its existing headquarters in northern Lancaster County and plans to create 700 new jobs over the next five years.

Indian Land, S.C.—Movement Mortgage recently announced its expansion in Lancaster County, S.C.. The company invested $18 million in the 91,000 square-foot expansion of its corporate headquarters. The new building already opened for current staff members, but it offers space for up to 700 new employees over the next five years. As an incentive, the Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project.

Located at 8024 Calvin Hall Road, in Bailes Ridge Corporate Park on Highway 160, Movement Mortgage presently employs 650 in a 104,000-square-foot building. According to The Charlotte Observer, the new positions will pay an average salary of $49,000. Upon completion, the company’s new development will include a fitness center, a cafe and a snack bar. The official opening of the company’s new building in Lancaster County is scheduled for March 2017.

“This hiring and expansion is going to help drive our business forward as we continue to lead a movement of change in the mortgage industry, corporate culture and our communities,” said Casey Crawford, Movement Mortgage’s CEO & co-founder, in a prepared statement.

In 2016, the company closed 55,000 loans for a total of $12 billion and is projecting its volume will increase to $16 billion in 2017. Founded in 2008 with four employees, Movement Mortgage relocated last year from its former headquarters in Virginia Beach, Va. The company also has operation centers in Richmond, Va., Charlotte, N.C., and Phoenix.
