Atlanta—New York-based Skanska has announced the signing of a $56 million (approximately SEK 470 million) contract on behalf of an undisclosed client, to develop a corporate office building in Atlanta.

The new development will include a 199,132-square-foot office building and 209,896 square feet of parking space at a yet undisclosed location. Construction of the property has already begun in September and the project is slated for completion in 2018.

The company consists in four business units: Skanska USA Building, specializing in building construction; Skanska USA Civil, specializing in civil infrastructure; Skanska Infrastructure Development, specializing in public-private partnership developments and Skanska USA Commercial Development, specializing in commercial projects development. At completion, the office building will be included in the order bookings for Skanska USA Building for the third quarter 2016.

The deal falls in line with the company’s strategy to expand its commercial property development business in the U.S., following prior deals in Washington and Tennessee, among others.
