Merriman Associates/Architects Celebrates 30th Anniversary, Changes Name
The 30th anniversary of Merriman Associates/Architects comes with a name change into Merriman Anderson/Architects.
Dallas—Dallas-based architecture firm Merriman Associates/Architects recently announced, along with celebrating their 30th anniversary, the decision to change their name to Merriman Anderson/Architects (maa). Jerry Merriman and wife, Deby, founded their namesake firm in 1987 based on the principles of integrity, ingenuity, respect and customer service. Milton Anderson, maa’s director of design & partner since 1997, espouses the firm’s commitment to design excellence through assembling and maintaining an exceptional staff.
“Successful architecture firms are cultivated by attracting and managing the best talent and resources in our industry,” Merriman said in prepared remarks. “It is a great pleasure to add Milton’s name to our firm’s banner. He embodies all of the key elements that have built our reputation in our industry. Merriman Anderson/Architects is a family of creative, intelligent and proficient design professionals all working toward the same goal – excellence. Our portfolio of projects is due to a group of talented professionals delivering exceptional design solutions for our clients.”
“It’s an honor to be included in the name of the firm,” added Anderson. “Jerry Merriman personifies the best in architectural design and technical detailing along with a strong business acumen. As I tell our clients, maa has the in-house talent for innovative design as well as the technical expertise to back up those creations. We won’t design a wonderful building or space and then tell you it’s out of your budget. We work painstakingly from the beginning to insure our projects are a synthesis of design, function and affordability.”
maa is responsible for urban planning projects such as Entrada Town Center in Westlake, multiple components of the Southlake Town Center and the River Walk Town Center in Flower Mound. Hospitality projects include Dallas’ Hilton Curio at the Statler and the Marriott Autograph at the Sinclair Building in Fort Worth, whereas urban housing projects include 21 Rio in Austin, as well as the Lone Star Gas Lofts and 1401 Elm in Dallas.
