What was Cushman & Wakefield’s is now Colliers’, as  Gateway Commercial, a St. Louis CRE firm specializing in tenant representation, investment sales brokerage and property management, and a former Cushman affiliate, has been acquired by Colliers International Group Inc., the latter announced Wednesday. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Gateway will rebrand as Colliers International and its team of 20 professionals will join Colliers International, St. Louis, effective immediately. Gateway’s office at 101 S. Hanley, in the Clayton neighborhood, joins two previous Colliers locations in the metro, at 701 Market St. and 1401 S. Brentwood. All three offices will be retained for the time being, a Colliers spokesperson told Commercial Property Executive.

“Gateway has long been recognized for its experience and creativity in St. Louis while delivering fully integrated commercial real estate solutions nationally and internationally,” Martin Pupil, Colliers International President | Western Region, said in prepared statement.

“With the rapid consolidation of our industry, joining an organization with a shared culture and ability to serve clients locally, nationally and globally was a priority for us,” Gateway managing director & principal Kevin Gallagher, who will assume the leadership role for Colliers International, St. Louis, said in the same statement.

Robert Guimbarda, of the Brentwood office, will continue with Colliers St. Louis as vice chairman of the St. Louis advisory board, focused on business development and local platform strategy.

Regarding Colliers’ existing presence in St. Louis, Gallagher told CPE, “their strength in institutional office listings complements Gateway’s strengths in the other major property types and services lines. Colliers International’s corporate services platform will help Gateway to continue to service our St. Louis–based corporate clients who do business around the world.”
