Ebenezer Management Services to Expand its Arbors at Ridges Campus

Ebenezer Management Services will soon expand its Arbors at Ridges campus in Burnsville, Finance & Commerce reported. The Minneapolis-based seniors housing provider will break ground on a $12 million project that will convert an existing building to memory care space.

Located at 13897 Community Drive near Fairview Ridges Hospital, the five-acre campus will get 63 assisted-living units once the new three-story building is completed. Locally based Kraus-Anderson Construction and Bloomington-based Sperides Reiners Architects are leading the project team, which plans to finish the construction by spring 2013.

According to Susan Farr, vice president of business development for Ebenezer Management Services, once the new apartments are completed, the residents of an existing 44-unit assisted living building will be relocated and the vacated building will be reconverted into much-needed memory care units. The new building at the Arbors campus will be constructed on land owned by Fairview Health Services, with which Ebenezer Management Services has been affiliated since 1995.

Another senior project nearing completion is located at Burnsville Parkway and County Road 5. The 140-unit Valley Ridge development, a joint venture between Presbyterian Homes and the Dakota County Community Development Agency, is being built on the site of the Valley Ridge Shopping Center, which was demolished last year.

Kraus-Anderson and Ebenezer Management Services also collaborated on Trails of Orono, an assisted living and memory care development valued at $10 million.

In other local news, StarTribune reported that the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, the public board working with the Minnesota Vikings to construct a stadium in downtown Minneapolis, has chosen Madison, Wis.-based Hammes Co. to oversee the project’s design and development. Selected from more than a dozen applicants, Hammes has undertaken to commit 45,000 work hours to the project, at a cost not to exceed $7.8 million.
