The Kalikow Group, developer of Luckey Ranch – a master-planned development in San Antonio’s far West Side – announced it has sold 50 new homes over the past three months. Moreover, another 16 home sales were under contract as of Nov. 30, according to a company news release.

The Luckey project, located at Loop 1604N and Highway 90, consists of 539 acres slated for residential development parcels, as well as 71 acres zoned for commercial use. The developer plans to build 2,400 single-family homes, which range in size from 1,200 to 2,600 square feet. Home prices range from $129,900 to $172,900.

In 2010, LGI Homes acquired 93 acres from the residential portion of the development, in partnership with real estate investment firm GTIS Partners. The houses that were sold or contracted are all from this portion of Luckey Ranch.

The housing project has been successful to date, benefiting, according to the CEO of the Kalikow Group, from the fact that “San Antonio is the third-fastest growing area by population in the U.S.,” the San Antonio Business Journal noted. As job growth is expanding, the demand for single-family homes grows too, making the project a successful business model in the industry.

The far West Side is also home to a new AT&T store, which opened on Dec. 1, according to the San Antonio Business Journal. This is the 16th store the company has opened in the city.
