Huanghai Development and Las Vegas city officials have announced the groundbreaking of Vegas Trade Village–a $100 million live-work development for foreign manufacturers–according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

The project kicked of its first phase, which will add a 4,800-square-foot bank and a convenience store, equipped with a car wash and a fast-food establishment, at the northeast nexus of Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street. The development will provide overseas manufacturers with a one-stop hub where they can eat, live and sell their wares to companies across the Las Vegas Valley.

Developers have positioned the seven-phase undertaking, initially known as the Huanghai Project, as an international trade center occupying a 35-acre land parcel. The property will include a 20,000-square-foot convention center, a 264-unit apartment building, four restaurants and a 12-key hotel.

Project Manager Dwaine Anderson plans to finish construction in roughly seven years. Vegas Trade Village’s concept is based on Huanghai’s 75-acre Imperial Valley Trade Center in California.

The project is developed in conjunction with land planning and development service firm G.C. Garcia Inc. and architecture firm Yihong Liu and Associates.
