When HFF announced the sale of YouTube’s world headquarters on Aug. 4, it stayed mum on a crucial detail: the buyer’s identity.

900-Cherry-Ave.-in-San-Bruno

But according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal, property records show that the new owner is none other than YouTube’s parent company. Google paid $88 million to purchase the buildings at 900 and 1000 Cherry Ave. in San Bruno from Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers L.L.C. The facilities total about 196,000 square feet, which equates to a price of approximately $447 per square foot.

YouTube is headquartered on an 8-acre site in the Bayhill Office Park, directly adjacent to Interstates 280 and 380. The location also offers access to U.S. Highway 101 and Highway 82 and is close to San Francisco International Airport as well as the San Bruno BART and Caltrain stations.

The six- and three-story buildings offer highly improved video/audio suites, high-end office finishes featuring a variety of creative spaces and conference rooms, and a one-of-a-kind “Immersion Room,” which simulates a 360-degree video stream. Amenities include two full-service cafeterias, kitchen/pantry suites with lounge areas on each floor, a fitness center with lockers and showers, bike room with storage, and a multi-functional conference room for corporate events and executive retreats.
