Wayfair Plans New Atlanta Distribution Hub

The company’s decision to locate the new distribution center in McDonough, Ga., results from the state’s thriving commercial infrastructure and expansive distribution resources.

AtlantaWayfair, a Boston-based e-commerce retailer specializing in home furnishings and décor, has announced the location of its newest distribution center in Henry County, Ga. The company will lease the Trammell Crow building within Phase II of King Mill Distribution Park, an 846,496-square-foot warehouse located at 130 Distribution Drive in McDonough. According to Rebusiness Online, Trammell Crow Co. and Allstate co-developed the property.

“Wayfair’s decision to create jobs and invest in Henry County speaks to Georgia’s thriving commercial infrastructure and expansive distribution resources, both of which are key components for growing companies,” said Governor Nathan Deal in a prepared statement. “By utilizing Georgia’s logistics framework and skilled workforce, Wayfair will continue its considerable growth and further affirm Georgia’s reputation as a top state for business and economic ingenuity.”

The new operation will service the southeastern U.S. and will create more than 150 new jobs in logistics and fulfillment. In addition, officials project that the company will drive significant investment over the next two years.
