Woolpert, the architecture, engineering and geospatial firm focusing on higher education projects, will renovate the campus buildings for $14.5 million. Renovations will include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection upgrades. In addition to accessibility upgrades, the project will provide new interior finishes and exterior windows, and will address minor building settlement.

“Being a UNCC grad and having attended classes in these buildings, I’m very excited to be part of the team for this important project,” said project manager David Welling. “Recently, the trend has been to renovate the state’s capital infrastructure. The end result of this project will provide a more comfortable learning environment for the students.”

The Ohio-based company has ongoing university projects with the University of North Carolina Charlotte, The Citadel, Miami University, the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Georgia Southern University, Norfolk State University and Tuskegee University, among others.
