Oklahoma CityHilton Worldwide broke ground on its second Tru by Hilton property in Oklahoma City.

Tru by Hilton Oklahoma City Airport is scheduled to open in spring 2017 and was developed in partnership with Champion Hotels LLC.

The stylish, midscale hotel will offer 86 guest rooms complete with all-white comfortable platform beds, 55-inch TVs, eight-foot wide windows and spacious bathrooms. When it comes to common amenities, The Hive open lobby is worth mentioning. The versatile space offers guests four areas for lounging, working, playing or eating.

Visitors can start the day with the complimentary “Build Your Own” breakfast consisting of a toppings bar with 30 items. Coffee and tea are also included in the room rate. Tech savvy visitors will enjoy the fast and easy mobile check-in, and the Digital Key system through the Hilton HHonors mobile app. A multifunctional fitness center will also be available for those looking to work on their cardio, strength and flexibility.

“We know the brand will have broad appeal to Oklahoma City travelers who span generations, but share a similar youthful mindset. Bringing an original, back-to-basics experience with soul–grounded in value and anchored in the DNA of Hilton–Tru will provide Oklahoma City with a contemporary, consistent and fresh hotel experience, while at the same time being operationally efficient to our owners,” said Alexandra Jaritz, global head for Tru by Hilton.

The new hotel will be located at 802 South Meridian Ave., five miles from Will Rogers World Airport. The project will add 75 construction jobs for the next year and 20 permanent positions on the long run, after the hotel becomes operational. Tru by Hilton Oklahoma City Airport will be included in Hilton HHonors, the award-winning loyalty program serving 50 million members.

This is the second Tru by Hilton unit, after the one in McDonough, Ga., which broke ground in March. The Tru by Hilton brand was launched this year to address a gap in the midscale hospitality category by targeting the youthful mindset travelers.
