A luxury boutique hotel and more than 25,000 square feet of ground-level retail are coming soon to ThePad on Harvard in College Park, Ga. The team behind the new project created the original transit-oriented development. HJ Russell & Co.’s CEO Michael Russell and President Jerome Russell are joining with Air Realty Partners’ Rod Mullice and Romel Canete to add a 136-key hospitality complex to the site. Rich Lillis, hospitality group leader for Colliers International, is advising the development team.

Located at 1777 Harvard Ave., next to College Park’s MARTA station, Phase I of ThePad on Harvard broke ground in July 2015. The project is the first transit-oriented development since the formation of the Atlanta Aerotropolis Alliance in March 2014 and the first multifamily project built in College Park in 40 years. Designed by the Niles Bolton Associates team of Lester Love and Andres Rubio with interiors by DesignONE, the $35 million complex will incorporate 109 deluxe apartments as well as a mix of local restaurants and retail.

The new phase of construction is expected to begin in six to nine months, according to the project partners.
