The Opus Group Gets Major Industrial Project

The Opus Group started construction on a 133,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility at Oakview Business Park in West Dundee. The two-story facility will be home to leading engineering and scientific technology company Renishaw Inc.

With 47,000 square feet warehouse space and 86,000 square feet for the office portion, Renishaw will consolidate its two existing sites and will strengthen products development, as well as testing capabilities. The additional space will be used to provide expanded storage and distribution space for its high-precision instrumentation.

“Our unique approach to the design-build delivery process has allowed us to seamlessly execute this very technical project for Renishaw,” said Matt Bratzke, director of Opus Design Build LLC. “Working closely with the Renishaw team, we remained flexible during the design process to evolve the design in a way that met the unique requirements of each space within the building while maintaining the client’s budgetary goals.”

The new building will also house a central IT hub for all of Renishaw’s North American operations and will provide flexible training and demonstration space for their customers.

Opus Design Build LLC is the design-builder working on the project and Opus AE Group LCC is the architect and engineer of record. Completion for the new warehouse and office facility is expected by June 2016.
