The Domain Companies Will Start Work on Apartment, Townhome Development in Baton Rouge
The Domain Companies announced last week its plans to soon start work on its second residential project in Baton Rouge. Called The Addison, after famous architect Addison Mizner, the development will feature 109 apartments and 30 townhomes.

The Domain Companies announced last week its plans to soon start work on its second residential project in Baton Rouge. Called The Addison, after famous architect Addison Mizner, the development will feature 109 apartments and 30 townhomes.
Work is scheduled to start this November. The Addison is designed in the Mediterranean Revival style, inspired by resort and residential properties commonly found throughout the Gulf Coast. In addition to the 139 apartments, it will also feature 7,500 square feet of retail space, and will be home to unique cafes, full-service restaurants, and high-end boutiques.
Domain said it will invest $23 million in the new project. In a press release, the company said that ”unit layouts and finishes are designed to position The Addison at the top of the Baton Rouge market.” It also said the new development will feature “high caliber” retail tenants and will seek to maximize sustainable and green design features wherever possible, just like The High Grove, Domain’s first Baton Rouge development. Construction of The Addison is expected to be completed in the fall of 2015.
The New Orleans and New York-based developer opened the $28 million High Grove in October 2013. With 192 apartments and 25,000 square feet of retail space, it represents the first development in the new 118-acre Grove community. It is also Baton Rouge’s first LEED Silver certified luxury apartment community. The property has so far been a success and has recently reached 100 percent residential occupancy. The four-story Addison will be located adjacent to it.
“The High Grove has raised the bar for luxury apartment living in Baton Rouge,” Matt Schwartz, co-founder of The Domain Companies, said in a statement for the press. “We’ll further that success with The Addison, which will once again set a new standard with a fresh and exciting design and even more unique services and amenities.”
