MGM Resorts International Hires Whiting-Turner as General Contractor for $1B MGM National Harbor Project

MGM Resorts International is one of the world’s leading global hospitality companies and the developer of the MGM National Harbor, a nearly $1 billion gaming resort located in National Harbor, the waterfront development on the shores of the Potomac River. On June 24, the company announced it has hired Whiting-Turner as Prime General Contractor for the project. With this final hurdle out of the way, construction is expected to start within weeks.

The 424-unit, Class A multifamily apartment community located in south Orlando is now the property of Milestone Apartments REIT, following a $50.7 million transaction announced recently by the investment trust. An affiliate of The Milestone Group, LLC was part-owner in the joint venture that sold the property, possessing a minority interest in the enterprise.

Loehmann’s Plaza to be Redeveloped and Renamed

Loehmann’s Plaza gets a facelift and a new name soon with site works beginning in June and continuing through January 2015. The redeveloped retail facility at the corner of North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Roads in Atlanta will be called Brighten Park. Regency Centers Corporation will redevelop the property and has already secured a lease with The Fresh Market grocery.

Jupiter Reserve Shopping Center Acquired by Elion Partners’ New Fund
