The San Diego market is a small beacon of light for a national economy still mostly in the dark. Capitalizing on that opportunity, Irvine, Calif.- based Sperry Van Ness merged its local operations with Southern California firm Promus Commercial, creating a new company to be called Sperry Van Ness/Promus Commercial.
“There are some very exciting opportunities,” newly minted managing director/ president Lauri Greenblatt-Hines told Commercial Property Executive. “Jim Taylor”–who will serve as managing director/vice president of the new firm–began the San Diego franchise a few weeks ago.”
The move was meant to bolster the positions of both firms, melding the talent and client rosters into a new office with a deep roster in all areas. Over the last 10 years of its existence, Promus has been busy, expanding into nearly all areas of commercial real estate.
“Retail is going to be a focus for us going forward,” Greenblatt-Hines told CPE. “That area didn’t take the hit that others did, and there are a lot of underperforming sectors that Sperry Van Ness and Promus can assist.”
