The Florida Department of Corrections has leased 13,263 square feet and the Florida Department of Children and Families has leased 6,000 square feet at Lauderdale Marketplace in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. The new tenants brought occupancy at the property to 90 percent. Berger Commercial Realty/CORFAC International brokered both deals on behalf of the owner, Marketplace Plaza LLC.
Located at 3708 and 3752 W. Oakland Park Blvd., both office spaces inside the 262,000-square-foot shopping center are within walking distance of important retail facilities such as Aldi, Walmart and Office Depot. Other governmental offices such as the U.S. Army Recruiting Office are also close by.
Berger Commercial Realty/CORFAC International Senior Vice President Joseph Byrnes arranged both leases. Berger Commercial Realty has been overseeing leasing and property management at Lauderdale Marketplace since 2016, when the retail center changed hands for $27 million. In October, the company brokered a retail center transaction in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
