The Smoothie Factory Juice Bar franchise commenced a major expansion program that kicks off with the addition of seven new locations in Arizona.

The first store is already under construction at the University of Arizona. The company has awarded the multi-unit development agreement to franchisee John Wilfert, of JW Health and Fitness, LLC, who also owns the existing Smoothie Factory at 1st Avenue in Tucson.

Smoothie Factory Juice Bar is a retailer of real fruit smoothies, fresh cold-squeezed juices, nutritional products and supplements. Smoothie Factory’s headquarters are located in Dallas. Its first retail location was opened in 1996 and acquired this year by BRIX Holdings, LLC. Also based in Dallas, BRIX is a multi-brand franchising company operating brands like Red Mango, RedBrick Pizza, Greenz and Souper Salad.

According to a written announcement released recently by Smoothie Factory, the first of these seven locations will open this December at 1031 N. Park Ave., Suite C. Wilfert plans to open his third location early next year, followed by five additional stores with sites to be determined. Miguel Foegal, president of Smoothie Factory Juice Bar said the Arizona development agreement is part of an aggressive national franchising program at Smoothie Factory with plans to award 35 new locations in the next year. “We are extremely excited to see John grow the brand to multiple locations in Tucson and throughout Arizona,” he added.
