Skanska Spearheading $47M Hospital, Other Major Projects
Stockholm-based development and construction group Skanska has been tapped to build the $47.6 million Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va.

Stockholm-based development and construction group Skanska has been tapped to build the $47.6 million Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Va. The property will be a three-story building comprising approximately 172,200 square feet and will house offices, medical wards, departments for emergency care and surgery, and specialist facilities.
Work will begin in July and is slated for completion in December 2011.
In February, Skanska was awarded 80 percent of the $542 million contract to build the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, which will eventually serve more than 200,000 commuters, provide service on the PATH system, connect 13 different subway lines, link the World Financial Center and the ferry system, and house world-class retail.
Skanska USA also announced this week that it has been selected for a $23.5 million senior housing development modernization in Cambridge, Mass. The firm has approximately 7,000 employees in the U.S.
