Simon Property Group has revealed that its new Tulsa Premium Outlets development will be located in the City of Jenks, Okla.

The Indianapolis-based REIT recently announced that Tulsa Premium Outlets will be constructed along the south side of Creek Turnpike, just west of the Arkansas River in Jenks’ River District. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2016 and be completed by the summer of 2017. Phase I of the project includes 80 to 90 stores totaling approximately 325,000 square feet of retail space.

“Tulsa Premium Outlets will serve as a top-tier destination for visitors to Jenks and the greater Tulsa market,” said City of Jenks Mayor Kelly Dunkerley in a statement. “Public investment in infrastructure around the Arkansas River is returning dividends to the entire region in the form of private investment and job creation.”

Tulsa Premium Outlets is not Simon’s first venture in the Oil Capital of the World. The company owns and has invested significant capital in the Woodland Hills Mall, including a complete revamp of the mall’s food area—renamed “Dining at the Hills.”

The company currently operates 85 Simon Premium Outlets across the U.S. and abroad, offering “exceptional brands at extraordinary savings.”

Simon is not the only retailer coming to Tulsa in 2015. Back in March, Costco and Trader Joe’s also detailed plans to open their first Oklahoma locations in the city this year.
