SDC Nutrition Leases 60,000-Sq.-Ft. Building from RIDC in Findlay
Pittsburgh-based SDC Nutrition has recently signed a lease to occupy a 60,000-square-foot building at the RIDC Park West Industrial Park in Findlay Township. The Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern PA is building out the space, which should be ready for occupancy this summer.

Pittsburgh-based SDC Nutrition recently signed a lease to occupy a 60,000-square-foot building at the RIDC Park West Industrial Park in Findlay Township. The Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern PA is building out the space, which should be ready for occupancy this summer.
SDC Nutrition has outgrown its current location within the park, where it employs 25 people. The five-year-old company which specializes in manufacturing powdered sports nutrition products will be hiring another 15 team members throughout 2014.
The Allegheny County Economic Development is assisting SDC Nutrition’s expansion by providing an Economic Development Administration loan of $220,000 for the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment.
“SDC Nutrition’s decision to locate in RIDC Park West is another example of the investment and growth in the Airport Corridor,” County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said in a news release. “We look forward to the company’s continued growth in the coming years and hope to see them expand even more in the future.”
In other news, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has announced it will relocate its printing production and distribution functions from 34 Boulevard of the Allies in downtown Pittsburgh to the former Flabeg Solar U.S. Corp. manufacturing facility in the Clinton Industrial Park in Findlay Township.
The newspaper has signed a lease with the Buncher Co. to occupy the 245,000-square-foot plant starting April. Production at the facility, which was built for the German solar panel manufacturer, ceased last spring.
The Post-Gazette will move about 175 employees to the Findlay building, which will also feature 30,000 square feet of office space, showers and a gym. The new printing equipment is expected to be ready for use this summer.
“The Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh’s oldest continuing business, will soon be produced in one of the world’s most advanced printing plants,” said John Robinson Block, the newspaper’s publisher. “We think the readers of Pennsylvania’s second-largest newspaper will be pleased.”
