San Diego-Area Luxury Hotel Opens Doors

Viejas Casino & Resort has opened Willows Hotel & Spa, a five-story luxury property in Alpine, Calif. The 159-key adult-only hotel represents the third phase of the company’s development plan in the area, next to Viejas Hotel and Viejas Outlets. It was recently redesigned and expanded, with approximately 12,000 square feet added to the casino, according to San Diego Union Tribune. 

Luxury amenities include a saltwater pool, full-service spa with salt sauna, 24-hour fitness center, outdoor cabanas and three new restaurants. While all guestrooms feature smart functionalities, select rooms offer Vitamin C-infused showers and beauty products. Local businesses such as Locale Kitchen and Lounge, Ginger Noodle Bar and The Daily Roast occupy the available retail space.

Located 35 miles outside of San Diego, at 5000 Willows Road, the property offers easy access to Kumeyaay Highway, Alpine Boulevard and Interstate 8. Across the street there is Viejas Outlets, which offers several shopping and dining options. 

The San Diego area has seen increased activity in the hospitality sector in 2017. Several luxury properties opened in the region, including San Diego Pendry Hotel. Operating under Montage Hotels & Resorts, the 317-key luxury hotel is located at 550 J St. The San Diego Convention Center and Petco Park are both nearby.
