Reed Smith’s Financial Industry Group Names New Partner
Jodi Schwimmer previously worked at Dechert, bringing two more associates with her to Reed Smith’s New York division.
New York—Global law firm Reed Smith LLP has recently appointed Jodi Schwimmer as partner in the company’s Financial Industry Group (FIG) in New York. She is joined by her associates, Samantha Chertoff and Carla Moore from Dechert.
Schwimmer’s expertise consists of the areas of CMBS and real estate and structured finance, as well as representing investors both in public and private securitization, besides clients in the purchase and sale of mortgage loans, mezzanine, subordinate and structured real estate debt transactions, among others.
“So far this year, Reed Smith has added 35 attorneys here in New York, making our office one of the fastest growing in the firm,” said Cindy Minniti, managing partner of the company’s New York office, in prepared remarks.
Schwimmer received her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts and her J.D. cum laude, from New York Law School where she got the Albert Katler Award for Excellence in Tax. Her partnership with the company comes with additional partners, namely Maria Earley, an experienced Consumer Financial Protection Bureau attorney based in Washington, D.C., Daniel Winterfeldt, a leading U.S. securities practitioner based in London, along with Diane Roberts, a professional restructuring and insolvency attorney also positioned in London.
