Oakland, Calif.—TMG Partners recently announced the firm leased 9,200 square feet of office space to ReadyTech, a technology company that will relocate from the second to the seventh floor of the Breuner building. TMG Partners is implementing extensive renovations to the building, including a full lobby, common area and facade upgrade, as well as a complete HVAC, elevator and fire safety modernization.

Built in 1931, the eight-story building was originally designed by the famed architect Albert Roller as home of Breuner’s Home Furnishings. Located in the Oakland Uptown market, with large floor plates, high ceilings and within two blocks of BART, Lake Merritt and a plethora of restaurants and entertainment venues, the new space will enable ReadyTech to expand. The tech company’s former office space of 22,364 square feet on the second floor is currently available for leasing, among other availabilities in the building.

“The promise of building upgrades and additional investments helped solidify our decision to make 2201 Broadway our headquarters to continue expanding our online training business,” said Amanda Mathews, director of finance at ReadyTech, in prepared remarks.

Cushman & Wakefield led all leasing efforts for the building, while CM Commercial advised the tenant in this transaction.
