Quicken Loans Mortgage Services Grows in Charlotte

Quicken Loans Mortgage Services (QLMS) of Quicken Loans Inc., the country’s largest online lender, has announced plans to expand its Queen City offices. QLMS, a mortgage service provider to community banks, credit unions and mortgage professionals in all 50 states will expand its Charlotte presence by increasing both office space and the number of employees.

QLMS currently has an employee roster of 150 but plans to increase this by 50 percent, hiring around 75 more by the end of the year. Out of this number, 50 will be based in Charlotte and will mainly support the company’s loan underwriting needs. Hiring is set to begin this summer.

To better accommodate a larger workforce and continually growing production, QLMS will be vacating its 1915 Rexford Road office and relocating to the new 20,000-square-foot office space it leased at 6135 Park South Drive—a space more than twice its current location. The move is expected to be made by the end of June.

QLMS’s expansion is good news all around. The company’s new lease will take up a considerable chunk of Charlotte’s office space vacancies and bring more revenue to a city that has proved itself an attractive market for investors.

“We were pleasantly surprised to find an amazing pool of very qualified mortgage operations folks in the Queen City to strengthen our underwriting team,” said Bill Emerson, CEO of Quicken Loans. “Already familiar with Charlotte through QLMS, the decision to expand our footprint here was a no-brainer.”
