Outbox Self Storage is set to expand its footprint in the Carolinas, with the acquisition of a 100,000-rentable-square-foot self-storage facility in Mooresville, N.C. and with the construction of a new self-storage property in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Mooresville facility, formerly known as Triple SSS Mini, is located at 2702 Charlotte Highway on nine acres and features 750 units. The buyer intends to improve the property systems with the addition of gate operations, security facilities and climate-controlled units. Outbox will also manage the property.

Situated near the intersection of Glenns Bay Road and U.S. 17 in Surfside Beach, just southwest of Myrtle Beach, the 75,000-square-foot facility will comprise 564, climate-controlled units. The new property is expected to open in spring 2018.

“Outbox provides a convenient, friendly and local self-storage solution, and we are excited to introduce our model to the Mooresville and Myrtle Beach communities,” said James Cole, founder and developer of Outbox Self Storage, in prepared remarks.

For the past several years, the self-storage market has been experiencing significant growth.
