Onyx CenterSource Taps Bill Nicholson as EVP & Chief Product Officer

Dallas-based hospitality technology provider selects industry veteran to deploy new products.

Dallas –Onyx CenterSource, a commission payment processor and recovery solutions provider, has named Bill Nicholson EVP & chief product officer. Prior to this appointment, Nicholson was a consultant for the firm, which was called Onyx Payments until a recent renaming.

A seasoned hospitality executive, Nicholson co-founded Pegasus Solutions, an antecedent to Onyx. In this role he directed the development of the first online platform for managing reservations and disbursing hotel information. Staying with Pegasus, he later advanced to EVP & COO.

Nicholson also served as the first Sabre Hospitality Solutions president and general manager. At Sabre he created a centralized reservations system used by the world’s leading hoteliers.

“Bill Nicholson is a pioneer in the travel and hospitality industries and has been successful in all his endeavors,” said CEO Mike Dubrow in a prepared statement. “A technologist by education, he has been involved with successful product development, operations and executive leadership. Under his guidance, we look forward to bringing some exciting new products to market.”

New product development is Nicholson’s forté. He helped establish TripCraft, a startup that launched a mobile platform similar to that of Pegasus. He also participated in the early stages of HomeAway, a vacation rental marketplace.

Nicholson’s client list reflects his expertise in harnessing data for the hospitality industry. He has offered strategic consulting to companies such as Lanyon, Roomkey, Hudson Crossing, Harland Clarke and Amadeus IT Group.

Nicholson earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he majored in computer science.
