Accounting firm Briggs & Veselka Co. is leaving its longtime home at 6565-6575 West Loop South in favor of the 31-story Nine Greenway Plaza. The Houston Chronicle reports that the company has recently signed a lease to occupy 37,820 square feet on one-and-a-half floors at Nine Greenway. The locally based certified public accounting firm, founded in 1972, started out with three employees, gradually expanding to its current 140. The company is relocating from its home of 32 years to accommodate past and future growth.

The 31-story Nine Greenway Plaza is part of a 52-acre master-planned, mixed-use development five miles southwest of Downtown Houston, on Richmond Avenue; the building encompasses 746,824 square feet of office space and is connected to multi-level parking garages totaling 5,000 spaces. Nine Greenway is one of 10 buildings in the project, which also features a luxury hotel, high-rise condominiums, an athletic/social club, retail shopping, a food court and a transportation center. The lease follows W&T Offshore’s renewal of 71,289 square feet signed less than four months ago.

Warren Savery and Bubba Harkin of Crescent Real Estate represented the landlord, Crescent Crown Nine Greenway SPV, while Bill Wolff of UGL Services-Equis represented Briggs &  Veselka. According to the Houston Chronicle, the company’s move is set for Jan. 23.
