Austin, Texas—Five new tenants have signed leasing agreements at the recently-renovated Oak Hill Plaza located at 7101 Highway 71 in southwest Austin. The announcement was made by Austin-based BBD Commercial, owner of the retail center, in a prepared statement. The new tenants are Epic Fun, Pluckers Wing Bar, D Pet Hotels, Slab BBQ and EurAsia Sushi Bar & Seafood.

“We’re thrilled about our new tenants at Oak Hill Plaza,” said Tim Jarvis with BBD Commercial. “We feel we have an excellent mix of restaurants and community-focused businesses. We renovated the facility and signed these tenants with the neighborhood in mind, and we think each of these establishments will be a great fit for the southwest Austin community.” This round of leases pushed the shopping center’s occupancy over 90 percent.

The spaces for the new tenants range in size from 3,000 square feet to 27,000 square feet. Each tenant will completely build out the interior of their spaces—from new flooring, electrical work and air-conditioning to updating lighting and paint.

Oak Hill Plaza is currently anchored by Auto Zone, Wells Fargo and Jim’s Restaurant. Recently, it received a facelift that included a complete remodeling of the façade and repainted exterior, a marquee restaurant end cap with patio, a re-surfaced and re-striped parking lot, new lighting and landscaping, as well as a new copper mansard roof and a refinished pylon sign.

“We had a vision of revitalizing Oak Hill Plaza and that has now become a reality,” said Bill Ott with BBD Commercial. “With this area’s proximity to Oak Hill, Lakeway and Dripping Springs, the growth has really accelerated over the last few years. We look forward to being a positive addition to the area.”

Oak Hill Plaza’s prime location, as well as the recent revamp, were primary incentives for the new tenant leases. “We’re a young, hip company and we want to be somewhere that the energy is young and hip, too,” said Liza De La Chapa with D Pet Hotels. “We wanted to be in an area that looks clean, modern and inviting to our clients,” added Stacy Eppen with Epic Fun.

“I’ve owned multiple bars and restaurants in Austin and so far, this has been the best owner/tenant relationship I’ve had,” said Raf Robinson of Slab BBQ. “We’ve wanted to make a deal on this site for a long time. BBD Commercial has been very willing to work with us and we’re very excited about this opportunity. We love this market,” Sean Greenberg, co-owner of Pluckers Wing Bar, added.
