San Antonio—Officials from CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, Trammell Crow Co. and Seavest recently celebrated the groundbreaking for The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Health Pavilion – Stone Oak. The three-story office facility, located at 1434 East Sonterra Blvd., is scheduled for completion for the summer of 2017.

“On behalf of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System and The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, I am pleased to announce the expansion of our network of care into North San Antonio,” said Ken Haynes, president & CEO of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System.

The Health Pavilion – Stone Oak will serve various purposes including pediatric services, family practice groups and provide office space for Baylor College of Medicine physicians. The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Emergency Center – Stone Oak will be located on the first floor of the building, with a fully dedicated pediatric emergency room. In addition, the building will serve as a KidSTOP location, a service launched by The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio in 2009 for pediatric patients that offers an anxiety-free place to receive a variety of tests and outpatient treatments without having to visit the hospital.

“We have a decade-long standing relationship with CHRISTUS Health and couldn’t be more pleased to be partnering again to develop our fourth medical office building in San Antonio,” said Davis Griffin, principal and healthcare development leader with Trammell Crow Co. “This is a unique project for us and our goal is to provide a fun and safe place to ensure the health of our children and families.”

“As a long-term owner of strategic medical properties, we take great pride in working with CHRISTUS Santa Rosa on a facility that will provide high-quality healthcare to families in a patient friendly and convenient setting” said Jonathan Winer, CIO of Seavest Healthcare Properties.

“This new facility at Stone Oak will help to extend the reach of the amazing pediatric subspecialty care that has been established in downtown San Antonio over the past three years by The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio,” added Dr. Mark Kline, chair of pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine and physician-in-chief at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Seavest is the owner of the building. Paul Barker with Endura Advisory Group in San Antonio will be the leasing agent. Trammell Crow Co.’s Calyton Baca and Mark Fowler will lead the development management of the project. The design was created by Mark Siebert and Cristina Hernandez with MKS Associates. The engineering team includes: David Martinez, civil engineer with Pape Dawson; Roger Mendez, RGM Engineering; Steve Bourassa, Alpha Consulting Engineers; and Jason Lochte, Cooper-Lochte Landscape Architecture.
