New 7MW Solar Farm to Serve Dillon County

The solar development is anticipated to provide power to 1,500 homes and is slated to begin commercial operation by the fourth quarter of 2017.

Flint Hill Solar Farm

Flint Hill is a 7MW solar farm developed by Pine Gate Renewables located in Moore County, N.C.

Pine Gate Renewables announced it started construction on a new solar farm in Dillon County under Freedom Solar LLC. The 7-megawatt project is anticipated to bring $7.5 million of new capital investment.

The solar development will be located at 2605 State Highway 9 and is estimated to have the ability to provide power to 1,500 homes upon completion. The project is scheduled to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2017.

A growing reputation

“We’ve earned a strong reputation around the world as a state that is leading the way in economic development, and this announcement is further proof of that. To see this new partnership with Pine Gate Renewables thrive in Dillon County is to see the hard work of so many pay off for the benefit of the local community and the state as a whole,” Governor Henry McMaster said in prepared remarks.

“When a new solar project is launched in South Carolina, it’s a sign that our renewable energy sector continues to thrive. This new $7.5 million investment will make a big difference in Dillon County, and we’re excited to welcome Pine Gate Renewables to one of our rural communities,” added Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
