CBRE Hotels has secured the sale of DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis University Area, a 141-key hotel in Minneapolis, for an undisclosed price. The hotel was completed in April 2017 and is situated on the site of a former noodle factory near the University of Minnesota campus.

Located at 511 Huron Boulevard Southeast, across the street from the University of Minnesota Clinics and Surgery Center, DoubleTree by Hilton Minneapolis University Area offers convenient access to various retail, dining and entertainment venues. Stadium Village Green Line light-rail station and Washington Boulevard are nearby, and the Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport is approximately seven miles away.

Hilton-brand amenities

The five-story hotel features roughly 6,500 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom for up to 350 guests and five smaller breakout rooms. Additional amenities include:

  • onsite restaurant
  • bar
  • underground parking
  • 24-hour market
  • 24-hour fitness center
  • heated swimming pool
  • laundry service

“The DoubleTree Minneapolis University Area is a beautifully-designed hotel that will benefit from stable demand from the university campus and the greater Minneapolis area,” Executive Vice President Nate Sahn, said in prepared remarks. “This transaction is a testament to the growing investor interest in Minneapolis and university markets.”

Nate Sahn, Pravin Boteju and James Foxx with CBRE Hotels represented the seller, led by Nick Walton of Reuter Walton Cos. and CPM Development. In another recent deal, CBRE Hotels arranged a $195 million mortgage loan for an international Marriott hotel.
