Makeover, Rebranding Planned for Boston-Area Constitution Center

The 180,000-square-foot office complex will undergo a $20 million renovation and will be renamed Constitution Wharf, aiming to become a creative waterfront work environment.

The asset sits on 8 acres in the midst of Boston Harbor, bounded by North Washington Bridge and Constitution Marina. Surrounding amenities include restaurants, cafes, clubs and parks. The complex is provided with on-site parking and zip cars, as well as dedicated shuttle service. It is also minutes away from various bus stations and a Hubway station. Main roads such as Interstate 93, Interstate 90 and Route 1 are easy to access, while Downtown Boston is a 10-minute drive away.

Jet.com-owned shoes.com recently signed a 31,300-square-foot office lease at the property, planning to occupy space on the building’s second floor, relocating its headquarters from Boston Financial District’s 101 Arch St. Newmark Knight Frank Executive Managing Director David Townsend and Senior Managing Director Tim Bianchi represented the owner, while John Butterworth and Nick Amarante of CBRE/New England represented the tenant, which will move in the next few months.

“The property’s fantastic location along with its modern amenities will make Constitution Wharf a great place to build culture and to recruit the best talent,” Townsend said in a prepared statement.
