In what may be a continuing trend of companies taking more space as a recovery gains solid footing, global law firm Proskauer has signed a lease for more than 400,000 square feet at 11 Times Square in midtown Manhattan. It is the largest office relocation in midtown Manhattan in two years.

Proskauer cited the 1.1-million-square-foot building’s LEED Gold certification as a major incentive for choosing the space. “There is no question that the technological advances incorporated into this building, coupled with the tower’s commitment to sustainability, highly efficient design, access to mass transportation and central location, all played critical roles in our firm’s choice of 11 Times Square as our new headquarters,” Prosakauer chairman Allen Fagin said when announcing the news.

The building is still under construction and slated for completion next month. Its environmentally friendly features include advanced air filtration technology and glass curtain wall exterior.

Proskauer will occupy floors 17 through 30 of the building, which is owned by SJP Properties. The firm plans to take occupancy of the space next year; it is currently located at 1585 Broadway in Manhattan.
