Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, Kempinski Hotels, will open its first property in Myanmar on Nov. 1. The newly built hotel is located in Myanmar’s capital, Nay Pyi Taw, one of the world’s fastest-growing cities.

Located in the heart of the city, close to the Myanmar International Convention Center (MICC), the Nay Pyi Taw international airport, the Gem Museum and the 325-feet-tall Uppatasanti Pagoda, Kempinski Hotel Nay Pyi Taw will open just in time for the Ninth East Asia Summit.

The hotel is spread across four villas and features 141 deluxe guest rooms and a variety of suites, including  including the 1,000-square-meter “Grand Royal Suite” that is the largest in the country. The opulent design draws its inspiration from Burma’s expansive heritage, most evidently displayed in the hotel’s Royal Pavilion, influenced by the architecture of the early Kone Baung dynasty of the 18th century.

Room amenities include high ceilings, broad windows, complimentary wireless internet access, concierge service, limousine transfer, and high-tech flat screen TVs. Guests will also have access to the hotel’s fleet of BMW automobiles, for sightseeing and guided tours around the city.

Kempinski Hotel Nay Pyi Taw will provide its guests a variety of dining, leisure and business facilities. The hotel will feature five restaurants and bars, six meeting rooms to accommodate up to 400 guests, a full-service business center, fitness center, outdoor pool and a tennis court. Additionally, the Kempinski Spa is set to open in 2015.

Founded in 1897 in Berlin, Germany and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, Kempinski Hotels currently operates 73 five-star hotels worldwide, and is a founding member of the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), the world’s largest alliance of independent hotels.
