Kearny Real Estate Expands San Diego Team

The company has strengthened its property management practice with the addition of Director Sonia MirĂ³, Associate John DeSantis and Administrator Teresa Souris.

Kearny Real Estate has appointed Sonia MirĂ³ as director of property management in the firm’s San Diego office. In her new role, MirĂ³ will oversee the firm’s growing local portfolio, leading the property management efforts for both of Kearny’s San Diego assets, as well as for its additional third-party assignments.

Three-decade career

MirĂ³ brings more than three decades of experience managing office and industrial properties. Prior to joining Kearny, MirĂ³ was regional director of West Coast property management for BioMed Realty. During her career, MirĂ³ has been responsible for the leasing oversight and financial performance of approximately 20 million square feet of commercial real estate assets in the San Diego area, including Emerald Plaza, which was acquired by Kearny in December 2016.          

Kearny also announced that John DeSantis and Teresa Souris have joined the firm’s San Diego team. As an associate, DeSantis will be responsible for analytical and financial modeling support for current assets and future acquisitions. Additionally, he will support asset and property management efforts at Emerald Plaza, Otay Crossings and Kearny’s other third-party management assignments. He joins Kearny from Phase 3 Real Estate Partners. Souris joins Kearny as property administrator to focus on the firm’s Emerald Plaza and Mission Center projects. Previously, she held a similar role with Lincoln Property Co.
