Logistics and supply chain company CM Knight Logistics has acquired the former LaFrance Industries manufacturing facility in Anderson, S.C., for $7.7 million. The new owner has rebranded the 405,000-square-foot property as Anderson Industrial & Logistics Pointe. JLL Carolinas worked on behalf of the buyer.

Located at 290 Old Anderson Road on 45 acres, the fenced facility features 1,900 square feet of frontage on Highway 76 and provides easy access to Interstate 85. Major manufacturers such as Arthrex and Michelin are in close proximity, while Clemson University is within a 10-minute drive.

Seller Mount Vernon Mills, the parent company of LaFrance Industries—a domestic manufacturer that produces fabrics for paint rollers and for seating surfaces—has leased back 120,000 square feet at the facility.

JLL Carolinas Senior Vice President Perry Major represented CM Knight Logistics on the acquisition, while Stan Johnson Co. Associate Director Robert Poirier acted on behalf of the seller. Major and JLL Carolinas Vice President Spencer Yorke will market the 288,000 square feet available at Anderson Industrial & Logistics Pointe, which is set to undergo a facelift. JLL Carolinas is also marketing to lease State Employees’ Credit Union, an iconic building in Chapel Hill, N.C.
