JLL Arranges $35M MOB Sale

MBRE Healthcare, a Chicago-based private owner and investor, purchased the Class A, 86,450-square-foot portfolio in the heart of Asheville, N.C.

JLL Capital Markets has arranged the sale of three medical office buildings in Asheville, N.C., for $35.2 million The company worked on behalf of the seller, Mission Health—a not-for-profit health-care provider—and its affiliated physicians. MBRE Healthcare purchased the 86,450-square-foot portfolio.

The buildings included in the deal are: Mission Health’s Asheville Surgery Center and Regional Surgical Specialists facilities (both on Medical Park Drive) and the Carolina Spine and Neurosurgery Center on Vanderbilt Park Drive. Built between 1999 and 2002, all properties were developed as build-to-suits. Having signed long-term, single-tenant net leases, Mission Health will continue to occupy all three Class A buildings.

Asheville Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center, Advanced Dermatology & Skin Surgery, CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital and Mission Hospital—a 763-bed facility—are all located nearby. The properties provide easy access to Hendersonville Road, Sweeten Creek Road, interstates 40 and 240.

JLL Managing Director Mindy Berman led the team that handled the transaction. In another deal this year, Berman also arranged the sale of a 17-building, 1.4 million-square-foot portfolio to an affiliate of Heitman.
