JLL Adds New VP to Its Smart Building Team

In his executive role, Yann Palmore will provide advisory services and will develop strategies to help clients implement data-driven solutions into their commercial real estate portfolios.

JLL tapped Yann Palmore as vice president of its Smart Building Program. Palmore’s primary responsibility will be to help JLL clients understand and implement data-driven building technologies and strategies into their commercial real estate portfolios. He has more than 20 years of experience in facility management, energy, sustainability and high-performance buildings.

Fresh company founder

Prior to joining JLL, Palmore served in a number of executive positions including:

  • chief sustainability officer at Pristine Environments
  • president of Sustainable SoCal Inc., a consultancy specializing in new construction, tenant improvements, facility operations and strategic planning 
  • director of operations at J. Craig Venter Institute—he helped the company win a prestigious Realcomm Digie Award for “Most Intelligent Corporate Headquarters”

Yann’s combination of IT, operations and facility management experience is ideal for helping our clients adopt this new data-driven environment that contributes to energy efficiency, optimized space utilization and an enhanced workplace experience,” Darlene Pope, senior vice president & director of JLL’s Smart Building Program, said in a prepared statement.

Palmore has recently founded his own company, Evolved Buildings, which designs intelligent IT architectures and helps building developers, owners and IT organizations install and manage base building networks. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Washington University and a master of science in technical management from John Hopkins University.
