Irvine Co. Office Properties has leased 32,000 square feet of office space at Chicago’s One N. Wacker to investment firm Ziegler. The tenant plans to occupy the entire 20th floor in mid-2018. A team of brokers from CBRE negotiated the agreement on behalf of the tenant while the landlord was represented by JLL.

Ziegler is emblematic of the companies that are choosing One N. Wacker as their Chicago home,” said Beau Rawi, regional vice president of leasing with Irvine, in prepared remarks.  “With the foresight that is the hallmark of this market leader, Ziegler recognizes that first-class modern offices and amenities are essential to accelerating success and attracting talent. We are excited to welcome Ziegler to our workplace community.

Iconic tower

The 50-story UBS Tower is one of the three trophy office buildings Irvine owns in Chicago and which help define the city’s skyline—71 S. Wacker and 300 N. LaSalle being the other two. Completed in 2001 by architectural firm Goettsch Partners, the tower features a stainless steel and glass exterior and column-free floor plates. Building amenities include a 9,000-square-foot conference center, a health club facility, free Wi-Fi in common areas and a two-level parking garage accommodating up to 230 vehicles. Irvine acquired the property from Hines in 2015.

CBRE Executive Vice President Lisa Konieczka and Senior Vice President Bill Sheehy represented Ziegler in the deal.  Managing Director Brad Despot and Vice President Anne Nicolau of JLL made up Irvine’s representative team of brokers.
