KDC has broken ground on Independent Bank Group’s new corporate headquarters at the McKinney Corporate Center Craig Ranch, located in McKinney, Texas. This development will mark the city’s tallest building.

Located at the intersection of State Highway 121 and Grand Ranch Parkway, the six-story headquarters will comprise 165,000 square feet of space situated on 10.4 acres. Design features include a glass exterior and expansive outdoor terraces designed to bring the interior and exterior spaces together. The 400 employees set to occupy the building will have access to views of a water feature and walking trails.

KDC will begin construction of the property and pursue LEED Silver certification. SmithGroupJJR is serving as architect, with Rogers-O’Brien Construction Co. as general contractor.

“It is exciting to be part of the outstanding team that will deliver a new Class A headquarters for Independent Bank in McKinney,” said Toby Grove, president of KDC, in prepared remarks. “The stunning building will have a distinctive profile from the Sam Rayburn Tollway and overlook the picturesque lake at Craig Ranch.”

In December, KDC partnered with Seritage Growth Properties to develop 1 million square feet of office space within the mixed-use redevelopment Dallas Midtown
