Hotel Equities Selected to Manage 96-Key Courtyard by Marriot in East Memphis

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities has announced being appointed manager of the 96-key, three-story Courtyard Memphis East/Bill Morris Parkway, located on East Kirby Parkway.

Atlanta-based Hotel Equities has announced being appointed manager of the 96-key, three-story Courtyard Memphis East/Bill Morris Parkway, located on East Kirby Parkway. The appointment marks the first Tennessee asset for Hotel Equities, which manages over 40 hotels throughout the Southeastern US and various U.S. territories. “We look forward to optimizing opportunities and adding value to this well-positioned, newly-renovated hotel,” declared Hotel Equities Vice President of Business Development Joe Reardon.

Located off I-240 and I-385, Courtyard Memphis East is advantageously positioned for both tourists and corporate travelers, offering easy access to Memphis’ tourist hotspots and fine dining as well as Class A office space such as the nearby FedEx World Headquarters and the Lenox Park office complex. Hotel amenities include a 24-hour business center, fitness center, outdoor pool, whirlpool, barbeque/picnic area, convenience store, onsite parking. A bevy of amenities, such as the 625-square-foot meeting space, lobby and Bistro onsite restaurant and bar, have been recently renovated.

Courtyard Memphis East is owned by Jay Batra, who purchased the asset in June from Summit Hotel Properties LLC through Batra Hospitality Group Inc. According to the Shelby County Register of Deeds, Batra Hospitality paid $4,225,000 for the asset and filed a mortgage loan with Liberty Bank of Arkansas in conjunction with the acquisition.

Jay Batra expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Hotel Equities as the property’s third-party manager, adding that he plans to collaborate with the company on his further ventures.
