Hollywood Park Casino Readies for Its Close-Up

Los Angeles—Hollywood Park Casino Co. has announced that an opening is in the cards this fall for the new Cary Grant Pavilion at Hollywood Park Casino in the city of Inglewood in Los Angeles County. The facility, part of the $3 billion, 298-acre City of Champions Revitalization project, will encompass 110,000 square feet of premier card gaming space.

HPCC secured a permanent state gambling license in April 2015 and three months later, the company broke ground on Hollywood Park. The opening of the new casino will come just over two decades after the original made its debut; it was in 1994 when the Cary Grant Pavilion first welcomed players to its Card Club. The reinvented casino, designed by JCJ Architecture on the site of the former Hollywood Park Racetrack and Casino, will offer that touch of Hollywood glamour, as well as a sports bar and restaurant, lounge and café. And, given that Los Angeles remains a car-centric city—for now, at least—the 11-acre property will also feature a new parking structure.

Quite simply, Hollywood Park general manager Deven Kumar said in prepared statement, “The new property is going to be bigger and better than ever.”

Hollywood Park is in a prime spot for success. The City of Champions Revitalization project, a public/private endeavor spearheaded by a joint venture between Stockbridge Capital Group and The Kroenke Group, will surround the casino with more than a few demand drivers. The mixed-use destination will feature 4 million square feet of retail, office, hotel and residential space.
