As Vietnam’s commercial capital and largest city, Ho Chi Minh City represents one of our key markets in the region. Last year, it welcomed nearly 6.4 million international tourist arrivals, a 23 percent increase on 2016, accounting for almost half of Vietnam’s 12.9 million tourist arrivals,” Serena Lim, vice president of development at IHG, said in a prepared statement. “The city’s fast-growing business and tourism sectors bode well for our strategic expansion in this market.”

IHG operates eight hotels across two brands in Vietnam and has an additional 10 in the development pipeline. Last year, the company opened the highest hotel in Vietnam, InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72, a 359-key property.
