Stockholm, SwedenSkanska announced the sale of Hagaplan Hotel in Stockholm to SPP for more than $112M or 970 million SEK. The divestment will be recorded by Skanska in the third quarter of 2016, while the actual transfer of the property will take place in December.

The 17-story, 16,200-square-foot building also includes office spaces and an underground parking. Elite Hotels of Sweden has leased 11 floors to set up a 222-key hotel scheduled to open at the end of 2017. The group’s 35th unit will be the seventh Elite hotel in Stockholm and it will include marble tiled bathrooms, modern conference rooms, a gym, a spa and a restaurant.

The Stockholm County Council has signed a 10-year lease for five stories of office spaces. After the completion of the planned renovations, in November 2017, the building will pursue a LEED certification at Gold level.

The building is located in Hagastaden, next to Hagaplan Square and a planned new metro station. The district is currently under development, with residential, commercial and infrastructure projects planned for the area.
