Global Medical Hires SVP in Dallas

Industry veteran Mark Kennedy joins the firm as senior vice president of business development.

Dallas—Global Medical REIT Inc. has announced the appointment of Mark Kennedy as senior vice president of business development in the company’s Dallas office.

In his new role, Kennedy will focus on growing Global Medical’s strategic relationships with leading operators that hold dominant market shares, and will use his extensive healthcare industry experience to lead the company’s business development and acquisition efforts in the south. He will report to Global Medical REIT CEO David Young, alongside Frank Wilich Jr., who was recently appointed in a similar role.

Prior to joining Global Medical, Kennedy served as chief development officer for a Dallas-based, physician-owned hospital corporation, and as CEO of its first surgical hospital located in Plano, Texas. In 1999, he co-founded Rockwall Hospital Corp., where he served as president & CEO until 2010. He led Rockwall into the creation of two acute care physician joint ventured hospitals, obtaining approximately $325 million in patient gross revenue during the first 18-24 months of activity. Additional experience includes the roles of COO of Cornerstone Health Management, VP of development for Brim Healthcare of Portland, Ore., and SVP of Dallas-based Epic Healthcare Services Inc.

Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Stephen F. Austin State University, and is currently working on his MBA in Healthcare Management at Western Governors University. He is a founding member of Physician Hospitals of America and a retired Major of the United States Marine Corps.
