Frontier Communications is set to move from its current headquarters in Norwalk, Conn., to a 95,000-square-foot office space in Dallas.

According to reporting from WFAA, the telecommunications company will lease and invest in space at 1919 McKinney Ave. in Uptown Dallas, a place that it refers to as the “GigaHub,” with plans to relocate the entirety of its leadership team to the building.

According to a statement from Frontier CEO Nick Jeffrey, a resident of Dallas, the firm’s move was motivated in part by the city’s emergence as a national technology hub, its business-friendly regulatory environment and diverse workforce. Additionally, the city lies at the center of the city’s plan for GigaBit America, calling for the construction of more than 10 million fiber optic cable networks by the end of 2025. With the move, the firm plans to spend upwards of $1 million a week to improve its fiber-optic infrastructure around metro Dallas.

Prior to the announcement, the city had roughly 640 employees based in the city, according to reporting from the CT Insider. At its previous headquarters, located at Building 401 of the Merritt 7 Corporate Park, the firm had roughly 300 employees occupying a 48,000-square-foot lease, according to CommercialEdge information. The CT Insider article states that the firm plans to retain its workers based in Connecticut and allow them to work remotely.
